I am old enough to remember The Beatles on Ed Sullivan, so that should give you a clue as to my age. In high school I studied drums, and even spent a year in college as a music major before joining my first serious band. It was that band that introduced me to power-pop; bands like The Raspberries, Todd Rundgren, and others in that genre. I took up playing the guitar and began writing my own songs, relying heavily on those melody and harmony based influences. If you can't sing along with it, you probably won't find it among my favorites. Still, I am even now finding new and exciting pop bands to listen to.
