Discovered Pandora around 20080115. As playlists for stations are apparently cultured via genetic algorithm rather than by exact selection, I seem to be having variable levels of success in guiding stations in the desired directions. Which sometimes feels like fostering plasmodium bonsai. God, please grant me the power of Personal Recombinant Intervention so that I may forsake the role of Reaper for the Fittest. Anyway, here are the intents, from most- to least-expressive of what I wanted:
Gate Zero 7: Starting at Zero 7, with downtempo loungy stops along the way.
Oort Cloud: Downtempo, chillout, space music (Oort cloud, get it?). Initially wanted it chill and abstract, but seem to have thumb-mutated it in a more sultry, loungy direction. Makes me muse along the concept of anthropic, observer-bias projection of subliminal desires.
Eno Station: Ambient, voiceless, electronica.
Boards of Aphex: Aphex Twin crossed with Boards of Canada.
California Guitar Trio Radio: Some stations seem very closely coupled with the seed artist and/or tune; perhaps Pandora doesn't have much online that's similar to CGT, or maybe they're just that unique.
