I'm a singer/songwriter who performs in the Detroit area under the name Charlie Monterey. My musical tastes have roots in what my mom played in the house when I was little: classic country, Gordon Lightfoot, Neil Diamond, and traditional classical "hits" recorded in the 1960s and 70s. From there I branched into a lot of different genres--it's rare that I can't find something good in most types of music. "Songdog Radio Land" is my attempt to get even deeper into singer/songwriters, starting from the ones I admire most who are recording these days.
