Listened to CKLW during the 70's and they played everything. From rock to country, to Motown and R&B. School Kid's records in Ann Arbor, Michigan was rated as one of the top ten record stores in the country by Rolling Stone magazine at one time. There I would purchase a rock, jazz and R&B album every month. So my vast love of music was also supported by night clubs that brought Iggy Pop, Bob Seger and others to our town. This past April I saw my two favorite artist in a one week span. Pat Metheny with the Brad Mehldau Trio at Orchestra Hall in Detroit, then 6ix days later I saw Prince at his nightclub, 3121 at the Rio, in Las Vegas! I've seen both numerous times, but never within one week of each other. Highlight of the year so far...by far!
