I love most classical and some opera, my daughter has me exposed to current pop. I grew up listing to what is now called classic rock. I got interested in classical music by my interest in synthesizers back in the 70's when they were first coming out. I started with "Switched on Bach" and it has been a love fest ever since. I have a good size collection (records) of classical synthesizer works.
