i'm all about the music...from c-jazz(1st preference)to alternative rock (ex: collective soul). roots are in r & b.

i'm back...& look what happened while i was gone...a new years was created.
r&b roots:
i think i started out listening to brother & sisters collections which included some of the best of all the standards of the 60's & 70's.outside of that,i had personal favorites like skylark, main ingredient w/ cuba gooding, tower of power. on my own, i discovered "after hours" radio (frequency module was da' bomb!). in the early 70's was the birth of majic 102 out of houston & i was instantly hooked. i still had a grasp on rock (what was good...to me), but my heart lied w/ soul & it's offspring, i.e., "quiet storm" music, funk (yeah, p-funk too...thank u george clinton), & what i considered the birth-era of smooth jazz, now oft-referred as contemporary jazz or c-jazz. jazz w/ a consistent beat & vocals. george benson, al jarreau, &, of course, grover.
