Grew up listening and playing trumpet. As I got older, my upper lip diminished, and so did my playing. My favorite trumpet player will always be Herb Alpert. His tone is the best. I also enjoyed listening to Maynord Ferguson, but mainly when I was a teenager. Mr Ferguson had a range that was the envy of every inspiring young trumpet player. Chris Botti seems to be taking the reigns now, I do enjoy listening to Indian Summer. I also enjoy Rick Braun, who is quite versatile, and like his playing.
