I have a continuous internal soundtrack running in my head at all times, whether I want it there or not, and every word, phrase, or paragraph is likely to cause me to instantly shift songs on that internal juke box (er, iPod Shuffle, if you're too young to know what a juke box is!). When struggling to express a concept, song lyrics often take over for my own thoughts. My memories of different ages, grades, friends, and places are intertwined with the music I most enjoyed within those relationships and spots.
I love Pandora first for exposing me to artists and songs I'd never heard - and probably never would have heard - before. While every now and then it hits a real clunker, Pandora is amazingly accurate at finding the common thread in music I've enjoyed and presenting similar, but completely different, choices. (And in all fairness, the clunkers are usually based on a song that I like for sentimental, not musical, reasons. If the same song came out now, I'd hate it, but it still holds a fond spot in my heart for the experiences tied to it.)
