i grew up with music, and in a family of self taught guitarist. my parents owned a lot of simon and garfunkel, csny, james taylor, and we always played alice's restuarant during thanksgiving. i found the beatles and beachboys at around 11 or so.

i first heard nirvana in 5th grade from a friends older brother but i didn't like it. i thought it was too loud. 2 years later i feel in love. then it was greenday and weezer. through greenday i found rancid and then i found the scene. i got into punk and i got into hardcore. earthcrisis, strife, AFI, and snapecase. the years 2000/01 a lot of things were going on with my friends and i. we started to take music more serious as we took ourselves less and less. alkaline trio, new found glory, saves the day, get up kids and a slew of other bands blew up.

i got mellower, all of the out of town college friends did the same. for some reason the guys i hung out with back at home got really into metal. i hated it. soilent green, and dimmur borgir only remind me of how angst and immature we were. sorry, i regresse.

i stopped playing in a band at around 22 or 23 and did not really pursue new bands or found interest in the scene any more. i had moved of my parents and started a career. at around 25 i started to listen to elliott smith. that opened a new door. again. i went to a ryan adams show that was sold out. this was the first sold out show i had been to at the catalyst in santa cruz in a long time. everyone thier were my age! i even recognized the same kids from years ago. they all looked so much older than me.

recently i joined an indie band named beezle. music is in my again. i feel 20 years old more than i did then. i am in a band and i am in school. this time i pay the bills. all well.
