Quite often people (like my students at high school would ask me: "What kind of music do you like?". I finally decided that the best answer would be: "I like all GOOD music, no matter what genre" Collecting records, tapes, books, music history documentaries has been my hobby. Listener supported radio stations often have guest DJs bring rare records from their collections. I often record them on cassette tapes. Thus I wound up with two(!) versions by different black artists from the late twenties of quite long ballads about the sinking of the Titanic. Pandora biography of Fats Waller mentioned that he promoted the use of pipe organs and Hammond (B3) organs for jazz recordings. While in high school (1946) a jazz fanatic with connections to the local US Army officers club got hold of V-Disk with Fats playing a wonderful jazzy rendition on large pipe organ in New York City. Often wish I could trace the owner to make a copy.
