About Jack Rosario Verga
Bio:
When I was in my teens, loving music as much as I do, I built my first crystal set radio and with ear phones, listened to music as it used to be when music was an art. I lived through a spectrum of time that gave me the most beautiful music ever known to man, the big band era. Radio was in its infancy. However working after school, I earned enough to build myself a radio with real tubes and a speaker. I esperimented improving the tone quality of the sound so I could enjoy it at its best. In later years, radios became commercuial and were available to the public. I saved and bought the best one I could find, a Philco with a 6 inch speaker. What a treat to my ears. I later built a bycycle radio, went to Astoria Park where there was a small area where people could dance to my radio music. Station WNEW played the best music. Martin Block was my favorite with the 'Make Believe Ballroom." As I listen to PANDORA today, I relive the trill of those moments, when my heart could sing and dance. Now I still sing and dance at the Senior Center in Franklin Square, NY.
For a while I led a singing group, singing the songs of the great composers of yesteryear. I pray that some day, the world will delve back and enjoy music the way it used to be. I thank God for PANDORA
