Hans Zimmer was the cause of my departure from the norm. The first time I heard him, I walked away from pop and the other songs I had been pretending to like for so long. He led me to discover other film composers such as Dario Marianelli, whose Atonement and Pride & Prejudice soundtracks have left me breathless.

In addition, I've been exposed to ragtime all my life and absolutely love it.

Recently, a friend introduced me to Ralph Vaughan Williams and Edward Elgar -- two AMAZING composers that have become large inspirations in a very short time.
