Started with doo wop, then New York bee bop, on to Mowtown, the American music slowed down, on to folk rock, Dylan, Havens and Van Ronk, next come Stones, Animals and Yardbirds and we could even understand the words. Went to Frisco in '68, Janis, Jimmy, Cream and the Dead were great. Hangin' in New Mexico and country rock took hold, CS&N, Poco, New Riders and Eagles were gold. Got "experienced" in Boulder, man what a trip, Moody Blues, Sgt.Pepper, Pink Floyd helped keep a grip. Zepher, Little Feat, Sons of Champlin were hip. Southern rock by the Allmans, Byrds from west coast, but big bands with horns is what I dig the most. The first B,S & T, Electric Flag, C(TA)hicago, Tower of Power, EW&F, Cold Blood, Ten Wheel Drive are usually playing in the background. I manage to squeeze in a little Big & Rich, Rascal Flats and Kenny Chesney. Seems like all the good rockers are goin' country. After 50 years of lisening to rock and roll...I quess I like it, like it, yes I do.
