Love Jazz .. Started listening to mother's jazz big band albums and 78rpm of Count Basie, Fats Waller, duke Ellingon et al. Went to NYC while in college at UNC chapel Hill. . Heard Coltrane, Monk, Bob Brookmeyer,Maynard Ferguson at town Hall, and Birdland.
Moved to chicago and heard live ahmad Jamal, blue Mitchell. etc.
