I am an anthropologist who has escaped the urban jungle to the greenery of a university that's actually set in a state park (or at least very adjacent to it!)
My recent dissertation was on opium, social structure, and global policy among a minority group in the mountains of Thailand. I've also got an article in the Social History of Alcohol and Drugs on "participatory development" in an opium control project. I do lots of environmental research.
