What don't I like? My good friend Johnny G. once said I had no musical taste because I seemingly liked everything. While it is true thet I have ecclectic tastes, I do discriminate just a wee bit. My favorites always seem to have a slight (or overt) sense of psychedellia, whether it be hip hop (De La Soul, Tribe Called Quest, Digable Planets) or garage rock (see Nuggets compilations). I favor musicianship over flash (Ry Cooder, John Haitt, Warren Zevon, Gram Parsons, Elvis Costwello), and enjoy many things polyrhyrhmic (King Sunny Ade, Talking Heads, Tom Ze, Grateful Dead). There is so much to explore and so little time to do so!
