for now my educational experience is defining who i am - so i'm a grad student in southeast asian history with a focus on the philippines. i'm also a community organizer in san diego, a mentor, an obama supporter, sister, sistah, girlfriend, former spoken word artist/poet/author struggling to find that creative voice again. Music - eclectic and reminiscent, from neosoul to new kids (don't hate now), alternative from the early 90's to ska a la` "Save Ferris"; but mostly hip hop with a message - what it was before it became commercial and material obsessed.
