Bio:
For 12 years I produced "Radio Ethiopia" for KPBX, Spokane Public Radio. This weekly one hour show highlighted world music from a rock perspective. Actually, it was inspired by the phenomena of the Reggae influence on UK punk rock circa the late seventies and just evolved into a world music and indie format, using the new releases sent to the station, which were channeled straight to me since they didn't fit the classical/jazz format of the station. The key to the show was variety and eclectic mixes of radically different types of music. From Killdozer to Augustus Pablo, from Patti Smith to Omar Faruk Tekbilek, from Screaming Trees to Alpha Blondy--either they loved it or it alienated them!
