I grew up during the Big Band era. I love the ballads of that time as well as the Swing style. I am a fan of Jazz and Improv but not of extreme. Stan Kenton is a favorite but he goes off the deep end sometimes. I am familiar with Benny Goodman. He wears thin after a while though. I learned to dance during that time and how to relate to the opposite gender. We learned the ettiquet of the day. It was a good time to be young and alive in spite of the depression and economic issues of the day.
