www.myspace/wordplay2 I'm a person who remembers the original punk scene in SF back in the late '70's. I had an opportunity to see some great shows by (now) cult status artists, so that definitely formed quite a bit of my preferences! But these days I've opened myself up to more genres (like alt.country for one) and I'm enjoying the wide spaces of open access internet radio. It makes me feel excited and rich to hear new stuff that I actually can connect with, instead of the plastic crap that dominates the world at large. I HATE AMERICAN IDOL! To me all those morons sound exactly the same (yeah, like they're going to bust out "The Star Spangled Banner"). Maybe I'm too old to be in the mosh pit---but I still love music that makes you want to rise up and smash something! Also, I like being able to explore "women's music" that doesn't sound like some sickening feminine hygiene ad. And I know I'm not the only woman who feels that way...
