If it's got a catchy synthesizer track to it - I'll give it a listen. Kraftwork, the Cars, Erasure, Pet Shop Boys are my fave older bands. If synthesizers fill that space and you know what I'm talking about - you can bet I'll like it. They now call it Trance music. Yeah I like it, like it alot !

I also like New Age & Meditation music like R. Carlos Nakai, Dueter, some Enya & instrumental synthesizer bands like Manheim Steamroller et al for those quieter moments by myself.
