Growing up in Detroit, I learned about the Bop era on WJZZ. I also learned about jazz history through great announcers such as Dorian Pastor and Rosetta Hines. They influenced my decision to become a radio announcer that worked in various formats, but none more gratifying than my stints as a jazz announcer from 1980 - 1983 and 1992 - 1997. Although I've left the music world, I'm still a big jazz fan that atends Jazz Festivals, concerts and catch interviews as much as I can.
