You won't find much drippy, melodramatic music in my collection. I've no patience for it. An English professor of mine once told me after I submitted a short poem about love and pain etc. "Mark, neither I nor anybody I know want to know what you feel. Tell us about what made you feel that way so we can feel it too."
Music must have passion but I try not to mistake volume for passion.
An original idea helps.
I like to think that most of the music I listen to is original and somewhat off the beaten path...
