I'm told I'm "a relic from the past", an "old Rocker with a lot of Hippie in him", & who's just now reaching up to the level of "Metal" music, altho I prefer the "original Heavy" (Metal) kind, like Tony Iommi & crew {Black Sabbath}; The Grandfather of Just About Everything in Rock shows, Alice Cooper, {Do you know what his name was before he changed it to match the band's?}; I was a drummer by training since age 9, and at 12 I both "went pro" on drums, and I picked up a bass or guitar when needed; I blew my chance to get training on the vibraphones & keyboards, (one of the two biggest mistakes I ever made); I shoulda-coulda gotten that keyboard-instrument training, which would've carried to everything I didn't have "formal training" to play, but I didn't, (only myself to blame on that one); I grew up listening to everything from Tchaikofsky to the "Big Bands", to Johnny Winter & his bro Edgar, {different styles & groups, but they're brothers}, to the "SuperGroups" (Cream, Mountain, The Who, etc.); I owe my father a lot for teaching me that music is "music", not one particular style or group... Anyone else out there who listens to Wagner's opera "Die Valkyrie" on the way to work, and Black Sabbath's "War Pigs" on the way home?
