Bio

At first I just liked what everyone else did. But I'd always leaned a little bit towards rock. I liked all the new rock/alternative bands (the good ones anyway) and for the past few years I've been discovering their influences and falling in love with the music of the sixties and seventies (and some eighties). I love how Louis XIV sounds like David Bowie (his song B**ch) or how almost all rock is influenced by Bowie, the Beatles and Queen. Then there's the Velvet Underground, the Dead Kennedys (can any band master their frenetic energy?), early Ramones. I love funk and instrumental music as well (dustin ohalloran and zoe keating are amazing new young composers). Some jazz is alright, but I need to be in the right mood. I like it when I hear a song on a youtube video or in a movie or in a store or read about a band in a magazine, then check them out and fall in love with them.
