Bio

Hometown:  Born in Chicago, Ill
School:  Joliet Junior College
Employer:  Retired

I love dance music from the 40's and early 50's. Once I would rather dance than eat or sleep. In Chicago, we danced at the Aragon and Trianon, Willowbrook, Melody Mill and everywhere we could to some of the big bands of the time. I like mostly instrumentals and some GOOD vocalists. Especially like Ella Fitzgerald and Nat King Cole and the Glenn Miller Vocalists, and Helen O'Connell, Bob Eberly, Eddie Howard, Favorite bands, Glenn Miller, Jimmy Dorsey, Guy Lombardo, Eddy Duchin, Artie Shaw, Freddy Martin, Sammy Kaye, Wayne King, and even Lawrence Welk! I listen to music a lot and have a Sansa full of great things to listen to while I walk.
My wife and I life in a Senior Community apartment in Pennsylvania, and I often took my small "boom box" and small collection of CD'sfor music background for our activities, now I take the laptop (wireless) and we all enjoy Pandora's music We have sessions where we make pillowcases for "ConkerrCancer" children in Children's Hospitals where they have cancer or life changing diseases, and our bright pillowcases brighten their days. Of course we're only one of many groups doing this work, but your music is enjoyed by all. We're all of the age where so many of the songs are fondly remembered and often we sing or hum along, Thank you for this wonderful idea of providing beautiful music! Sure beats my collection of CD's, which don't hold a candle to your collection! Thanks again! Hank Obermayer
