I love ALMOST all music. I don't care for opera and don't consider rap or hip-hop to be very musical.

I started out enjoying the music my mom listened to when I was 4-5 years old, like Tennessee Ernie Ford. Then around the age of 12 I began to like the 60's Girl Groups, the Shangrilas, etc.

Then in 1964 it all changed with the Beatles and the British Invasion and the American Renaissance: the Byrds, Airplane, Quicksilver, Moby Grape, Steve Miller, Grateful Dead etc.

Then in college I got turned on to jazz:
Coltrane, Coleman, Parker, Miles, Dexter, Lester...

Then Classical: Mozart, Bach, Handel, Stravinsky, Brahms, etc.

Then World music: Celtic, African, Latina, and so on.

Then I went back and discovered Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Billie Holiday, Shirley Horn, and 40's Pop.

Today I listen to a mix of all of the above, depending on the day, the week, the mood...
