I love all kinds of music (I can even stand some of the atonal twelve-tone serialist stuff on my Schoenberg channel), but I especially love music with soul (e.g. jazz and blues). As an aspiring jazz musician, I mostly use Pandora as a platform for discovering and listening to tons of jazz. I love songs with good melodies, good grooves, cool chord structures, or good lyrics. Some jazz stuff does not fall into those categories, and I definitely do not love all jazz. Free jazz and smooth jazz - no way.

I do love rock and SOME hard rock/metal, but I hate most of the rock clichés like overuse of minor thirds and quarter-note rhythms and I - IV - V progressions and too much distortion for no good reason, etc. Alternative rock is lots more interesting and more fun and enjoyable for me, although some of that is also pretty clichéd and weird, too.

In general, I love all kinds of music, from classical music to rock to jazz to blues to Latin/Caribbean to etc.
