Music that makes a difference, that forces people to listen for the message, to acknowledge and appreciate the emotional connection the artists have with their work. I find most of that energy in Rock, but Country, Hip Hop/Rap, Blues, even the more poetic end of Pop, all have the potential to convey something worth saying when the artist is creating something true to themselves. That said, I also just like the sound of Rock. That's just me.
