The Dirty Bend

My music taste is mainly geared towards hip-hop and down temp/ambient music. My favorite band is Sigur Ros. My favorite emcee is probably MF Doom. At least over the past 3 years it's been Doom. I'm a big fan of seeing live music. Been to shows ranging from NIN to David Allen Coe to Phish to Wu Tang Clan to New Kids on The Block. I've probably been to at least a couple hundred live shows in my 26 years.

Right now my main listening station is Cesaria Evora Radio. Cesaria is from Cape Verde and sings a style of music known in Portugal as Fado. Lyrically it is similar to American Blues music. Although I don't speak a lick of Portuguese, simply knowing that it is a song of loss and sorrow has made listening to this music a supremely emotional experience for me. Her voice jumps right into your heart. It's simply beautiful music.
