Raised in a city that gave birth to America's music, New Orleans. I was raised around music and learned to appreciate music at a young age. New Orleans and her music is what I hold the dearest next to my family and friends. In high school I went to ska and punk shows every weekend. I had a boyfriend who opened my eyes to different forms of music outside of the mainstream and with those bands I developed my own likes and dislikes. I hold New Orleans responsible for my love of music and the power of music. I believe it heals, saves and shapes people. I believe children should taught at an early age, like I was, how to appreciate music and harness they're creativity and build on it, even if it doesn't include music.
