I love a really wide variety of music, everything from New Order to The Beatles to John Williams to Public Enemy. I like anthems, music with depth, darkness or grandeur that gives you goosebumps, politically aware content, and of course a good danceable groove!
Below are a few of my favorite tracks that are available on Pandora. I've tried to avoid listing those which I think virtually everyone has already heard and knows about (e.g. hits by Pink Floyd, The Smiths, John Williams soundtrack music, etc.) although my list does include some well-known artists. My hope is that if your tastes overlap with mine, you'll find at least one or two gems here that you haven't heard before, even if you are widely listened.
Of course it's a little annoying that they're obviously using this as a way to sell stuff through iTunes, which I don't use (call me old-fashioned, but if I pay for music, I want an actual CD with artwork, or better yet vinyl!), but all in all I suppose this is as good a way as any to allow Pandora to remain a free service. It's also a nice way for Pandora users to be able to turn each other on to artists and song titles that we can use to create our own stations.
