to the staff: firstly I just started this the week of !2 jan. 2009(one week). I started without reading your info and mission statements. I learned quickly that the song and artist comments could also be used as a messaging link to the contoller I'm collaborating with. I'll try to use it less as time goes on. I didn't realize there were 50 musicologists, I should have figured you need alot of people to deal with millions of users, you might need more. I intend to help start some rather focussed radio stations. I started with 100 stations the first day. I've trimmed things down to a workable number encorporating artists where I felt I could. I was happy to read you favor obscurity. I don't want my stations to be about the mainstream at all. if I start a rock idea I wouldn't want it to turn into a mainstream all inclusive type classic rock station. I've only earmarked two stations for classic rock, faces radio to be rolling stones flavored,and jeff lynne radio to be beatles flavored. on the other hand I'd hate to see all alternative formats become world cafe radio show or the more essoteric echos radio show , both of which I love but, I could just pay them to acsess their archives if that's what I wanted. I also plan on being very opinionated to begin with untill I feel the station is going in the right direction. this is halfly about producing ang listening to music I like and want isn't it? I've already input vast variety suggestions as well as using the song comments to talk in terms of genre as well as albums and periods in an artist's career. I now understand that that's not the right place to do that, but you don't offer working options for those kinds of things. what I mean is a place to easily do that while we are working and so your whole population can immediatly acsess them. Let me stop this long winded mess, and say I'm sort of excited to be able to participate in such an intersting project. see you all on the air. please make comments while we work.
