My tastes are extremely eclectic. Having been born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, I was exposed to a wide variety of music from an early age. The radio was on far more often than the television at home, and though my mother typically had it tuned to soft rock or pop, I learned to rather enjoy exploring the dial to hear what else was playing. From symphony to hard metal, from new age to blues, from folk to dance mixes, and all the colors of the rainbow in between, I quickly developed an appreciation for it all. I've been through phases where I would binge on one particular genre or sound, but I never lost a love for the full spectrum of music. I did develop a favorite instrument, however: the human voice. Regardless of gender or style or language, I love to hear people sing. My own attempt to become a singer was peacefully laid to rest after taking vocal lessons for a couple years, but the experience only deepened my appreciation for all who can sing.
