Music is one of the ways we know there is a God. Music brings people together and when used propertly, it breeds peace. The sight at a music festival like Wakarusa means to much to me: young and old, black and (mostly) white folks, hippies and Yuppies (or their 2000's equivalet) all singing and dancing and living together for the love of music. What a wonderful world.

I like mostly the improvisational sounds of rock 'n' roll ... the Grateful Dead is a favorite, obviously. Instrumental music is great for letting my mind wander, or to get work done or some reading accomplished. Still, as a child of '60s, I grew up on Beatles and Rolling Stone and Eric Clapton and the pop and rock of the era so I still love it. And lately I have discovered the Electronica or Sound Tribe Sector Nine and the many others who play this "space funk" dance music that is wonderfully relaxing and at the same time invigorating.

And me: a late baby boomer with a wonderful wife who share my love of music (or at least lovingly tolerate it) and three daughters who also go along to the music festivals and concerts with the old man. And now with two grandsons I am indoctrinating them, too!
