Love the old Jazz Fusion. RTF,Ponty,Bruford. Technical but funky and intricate is best.It has to have more heart and soul not overshadowed by technique.Stanley Clarke "School Days" changed my musical direction forever after hearing it on the radio. My drumming took a 180 and I will always be grateful. So while listening to Led Zep and early Genesis,EWF and many others adding Jazz Fusion gave me a nice diverse musical background to grab from.
