I love music--I have broad and varied tastes. There's very little I won't listen to; in fact, I'll listen to anything at least once. I do have some random blind spots--I've never understood the genre concept on its finest levels and I sometimes have a hard time remembering artists/song titles even though I can remember vast amounts of lyric.
I learned about classical music and the Big Band sound from my grandparents. My mom got me into the music of the 60s and 70s. My dad turned me on to vintage country. I got hooked on the 80s when my uncle got me a little pink radio for my birthday in the late 80s. College turned me on to the music of the 90s and various friends have expanded my horizons in other ways. A good beat keeps me going when it's time to do chores.
