My taste in music tends to run more in the direction of classic funk, soul, rock, and blues made in the 1970s and 1980s (during my formative years). I also enjoy neo/nu-soul as done in the Jill Scott/Erykah Badu/Kem/Sade mold as well as disco, old-school rap/hip-hop from the 1980s, some techno, jazz/funk/fusion, acid jazz,and some downtempo/trip-hop. I'm still trying to come to grips with a lot of the genre terminology, so let's just simplify things and say that I love good music and great music even moreso. The stuff on the so-called "Top 40" stations and what passes as rap these days are not even within my sphere of consideration. Long story short: I prefer music that I can enjoy now and for years to come.
