this is one song that will stay with me forever. i made some bad choices in my early 20's and landed up in a shelter for just over a year. ive seen the worst side of life and this song is the apitomy of homelessness. theres love anywhere you find it.
I can relate to this song very well, as i have been there and done that.....Never had it as bad as these people...But, lived in a Mission back in 1980. I do remember the struggles and do remember seeing men sleep under trees, under bridges and out in the cold.....Great song indeed!
Man, very moving lyrics. I'm a casual listener to Collins, but never been disappointed by what I've heard. This is poweful.

every parent should take their kids to a soup kitchen, etc...like Lady Di did. I live in a city w some very rich kids..they are so unbelievably selfish and judgemental, as are their parents.
Another Day in Paradise. I think Phil Collins is compassionate and caring and He has helped with events to raise money for the poor and homeless, etc. We must all do what we can with what we have. "To him who knows to do good and doesn't do it, it is a sin. We must all do what we can with what we have. God will judge all for what they did in this life with what they had and what they knew.

I think Graeme Nash and David Crosby from Crosby, Stills and Nash are singing with Mr. Collins on this song.
This song is a wake up call, Yes, anybody could be there, are you ready for that?.

I love hearing songs from filthy rich people talking about helping the poor. Is he doing something about it? I can't find anything on the internet.
Reminds me of the story of the good samaritan, but without the girl getting any help. How often do we cross the road to avoid making eye contact with a less fortunate human being? Compassion is NOT a sign of weakness!
This is what we live in. Paradise. Others cannot, or do not have the means to. Let's help'em out. Everyone deserves to live in a paradise of their own.

I'm the type of dude that actually stops and talks to street people, and have been doing that since I've been a little boy. I truely love people and to see what makes them tick...yes I will give them a little somethin, somethin too.

Poverty exists mainly because the "Free Market" is anything but free (i.e., it's manipulated ad infinitum).

"Fixing" the problem isn't a solution. Poverty is generational and a mindset. Empowerment is the key.
In a country as wealthy as America, there should be no homeless problem, or at least a much, much smaller number of people living on the streets. Even small gestures of goodwill are paid forward in time. Helping people feels great.
