As the daughter of a professional musician father & music lovin'/dancin' mom, I was blessed to grow up singing, listening & dancing to all genres of music. THANKS MOM & DAD for passing on your passion for great music. (My kids & grandkids thank you too!)
I do so love music rich in harmonies,stirring rhythms, unique chord changes, pure melodies and lyrics that weave & paint a story. If the music doesn't stir up the emotions, bless your sensibilities or bring your soul to it's knees, it just isn't music.
The only 'music' (if you can call the assault on the senses 'music') that I can't stand is:
--Gangsta Rap (it's just plain vulgar & unimaginative)
--Head Bangin'-Heavy Duty Acid & Metal Rock(noise pollution!);
--Non-melodic Jazz (the chords & note placements don't seem to make any sense to my musical instincts)
--Operatic-style singing..EXCEPTIONS are Kathleen Battle & the Three Tenors, I love them! p.s.: I ran across an old Jeanette McDonald movie - "Firefly". Although some of the acting was hoakie, I did appreciate her singing voice.
