I was a musical ignoramus until college, but have always loved catchy and novel music - They Might Be Giants was my #1 band for a long time. Of course I've always had an appreciation for classical music as well, particularly Beethoven and Grieg.
My wife Laura introduced me to Simon and Garfunkel and Barenaked Ladies, and I've developed more diverse tastes since then... but though I've come to appreciate more indie and atmospheric music, I'll always be a sucker for a catchy tune and beat and lyrics you just have to sing along to.
Pandora has helped me expand my musical horizons, including discovering the genre of "acid jazz"... I'm very fond of my "Trippin'" station.
