I'm into non-happy music. Happy music makes me angry and annoyed. It doesn't have to be heavy, depressing, or hard (if it is, I probably already love it)...but it can't remotely resemble Shiny Happy People in ANY way. Having said that, I am a bit of a metalhead, but I'm a keyboardist so industrial influences are always creeping in to my tastes. I also dig darker/underground dance styles like trance and house. I've been embracing my love for Progressive Rock/Metal lately too. I was too cool to admit liking that stuff for a long time but the truth is, Dream Theater is the soundtrack to my life. Also love classical and some jazz...but only when I'm in the company of people who also enjoy it. I'm a classically trained pianist so true musicality is always appreciated. Other non-hard, non-happy music I love: T.Amos, Seal, Sarah MacLachlan...get the idea?
