Music is a necessity for me. I may not be a musician, but I think I was in a past life. Music is so dear to me. I lost music in my heart not too long ago, but it then rescued me! However, it was always there & never really left me.
I'm somewhat new to the triad area and my first adventure was to scope out the music of my heart...some Blues of course. So, I found the only local watering hole in this lil'o podunk town! Well, to my surprise they have lots of blues bands! Of course, Eric Clapton will never appear there!!!
Then, I had to find some Karaoke & a Shaggin dance floor w/some Beach music.(that's a southern dance. Like jitterbug). Done deal! I even receive a few shag lessons, along with some new dancing friends. I now stay pretty busy with different aspects of my music world. Onward & upward I go.
Speaking of special music, I was sadden to hear of Kenny Rankin passing in July 2009. Do read his bio & listen to his soul. He was my first IN LOVE w/a musician. (After Elvis of course.)
I weaned my daughter with Kenny's music back in the 70's. He kept me company through many of life's changes. He had a warm & talented soul. I will miss him & always have his music in my heart.
On a different note, its funny that, my li'l brother introduced me to Pandora. Whoddathunk! But,I'm thrilled with it! What a great way to explore different artists. Finding songs & artists are a snap. I've had this for a while now & didn't notice that we can Share stations, write a bio, etc. Who knows where this will take me. If someone is reading this now & you are a lover of E.C., do read his 2007 autobiography. Wow, what a perspective I acquired from him. As well as, so much more admiration for him overcoming it all. Let me know what you think of it.
