[artist]Clapton is my Guitar god; he's The Man! Nobody does rock & blues like Eric. I know he's 63 and his best years are behind him. But when you look at his body of work for the past 45 years when he started with the Yardbirds at age 18 to his last independent album, which happened to be his first made with his long-time friend and personal hero, JJ Cale ((I'm excluding the double "Clapton" CD, as it was a disappointing G. HIts) I was thrilled that "Escondido" won a Grammy, more for JJ than Clapton. It was Clapton's 19th Grammy, but Cale's, 69, first. Long overdue for this brilliant, undderated songwriter, guitarist, pianist & drummer. Also love Jimmy Buffett, SRV, Allman Bros., Lynyrd Skynyrd, Tom Petty, Pink Floyd, PBBB, Electric Flag...I'll stop there, but could go on 4ever. BTW, I wanted to list "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" as a favorite song, but Pandora won't recognize it, if you can imagine. Just edited 6/1/08 & have learned more blues since I originally posted & the more I hear the blues the more hungry I am to learn about more blues artists. Blues Lovers welcome to write and help this novice out!
