I've been playing the Beatles and Joan Baez on my guitar since I was thirteen. I gigged around East Texas as a folksinger/songwriter and finally moved to Austin, where I continued to sing and more notably, write lyrics.
I was music director of the second radio station I worked for and since I was one of the few female DJs in the business, I was pretty well left to my own devices during my morning show. When Willie and Waylon and Jessi hit the Armadillo World HQ in Austin, I started playing a lot of the Austin music I would go and bring back to the station.
I cannot imagine my life without music. I love to hear live music, play guitar and jam, write, and have been a radiohead since I was about four years old. Music is healing, inclusive, uniting and promotes cooperation, tolerance, and friendship. That was my contribution to the 60s and has continued to fuel my heart and soul ever since.
