I grew up with a father and an uncle in Miami, who loved jazz, and had great collections of 78 rpms, then 33 rpms, and listened to great music on the radio, from classical to blue grass, to latin from Cuba, and jazz!!!!! When I was nine, Dad bought me a used cornet, and I tried to imitate Louis Armstrong until my uncle Art introduced me to Ruby Braff, Bobby Hackett, Chet Baker, Al Hirt, and the Dukes of Dixieland. I love playing slow ballads and plan to get a trombone, drums, piano, clarinet, bass, tenor, baritone sax players together when I retire. I'm now 75 and still pick up my cornet to play along with music on tv and radio, when they are lyrical songs which I like. If you are in the Daytona Beach area and play any of those instruments and like similar music, contact me at yahoo.
