david elias has been writing, singing, performing and recording his own acoustic style music with the support and backing of many great talents in the sf bay area since 1995. he recently relocated to the big island of hawaii.
david's style is not that unlike pandora with links (influences) from lots of places and people in the history of folk, rock, country, blues and beyond. he has been playing guitar self-taught since the age of 11. he self-produced his first cd in the early days of online independent music (1994/95) and was recognized for songwriting and delivery with "lost in the green". being encouraged by national and worldwide radio play as well as finalist picks in songwriting festivals, the next disc "time forgets" included tracks to hit #1 on the new mp3.com breakthrough website for indie music. to date, 8 cd's appear online at cd baby, amazon and itunes, all with original music and a variety of styles.
david has performed over 1000 shows since 1995 as a solo performer, or with his small trio/quartet as well as large 8-piece band. he appeared with the ethereal muse jane siberry (issa) in 2005 at the newport folk festival and has been consistently present (musically) at education, art, health (relay for life) festivals in california and most notably environmental green efforts.
david also helped pionerr hi-res and surround sound in 2000 and has released two award-winning 5.1/stereo sacd's (the window, crossing) as well as other HD DSD recordings.
his songwriting styles have been most frequently compared to the likes of many heavy hitters including john prine, paul simon, early dylan, guy clark, townes van zandt.
