I listen to everything for the most part. First bands that ever caught my interest were Korn, Powerman 5000, Static-X, Fear Factory, Deftones, Tool and NIN. Later on I discovered what some might call the "underground" and have been digging happily away at the walls looking for bright gems. Taste varies depending on the cycles of the moon. I can be anywhere from chaotic aggression with a slight groove like Pig Destroyer, Dying Fetus, Napalm Death, etc to sweetly ominous and quietly melodic like Godspeed, Pelican, Estradasphere. Then there's all the stuff in between, with a slight leaning towards the fast, the sludgey and the bleak stuff like Isis, Neurosis, Crowbar, Down, Emperor, Opeth, Agalloch, Between the Buried and Me, Lamb of God, Children of Bodom...Then there's some old-school undertones a la Santana, Clapton, Hendrix, BB King, Mr. Davis, Jacob Pastorius... The list goes on, clearly. What's not clear is the jumble of drugs and oddity that takes up the fringe. I'm talking Primus, That One Guy, Throbbing Gristle, Nurse With Wound, Ministry, Aphex Twin and generally any obscure ones that like to make a lot of discord and noise. Trance and drum'n'bass drift in and out on occasion.
