Stylistically, I've always enjoyed the harder stuff, albeit with the more positive and uplifting lyrics that the Christian music artists tend to have. Not that I totally eschew mainstream acts, only tht there are kids about and I'd like to not feel uncomfortable if they happen to catch what I'm listening to. Current (modern) faves include Thousand Foot Krutch, Red, Fireflight, and The Letter Black
I also enjoy classical music especially of early 20th century styles of the likes of Joaquin Rodriggo, Maurice Ravel, Samuel Barber, and Sergei Prokofiev. The balance of my music collection covers American musicals (e.g. Guys and Dolls, The Music Man, Fiddler on the Roof, ect.), film soundtracks (e.g. Batman, Dune), and a (un)healthy dose of Christmas music (I still haven't jumped on the TSO bandwagon, yet, though).
Lastly, I must also say that I reserve the right to listen to a bit of bluegrass and contry every now and then. Blame the wife for that one. In fact, I think I listen more than she does, now. Current faves in this genre include Brad Paisley, Nickel Creek, Iron Horse, and, of course, Allison Krauss and Union Station.
