The tsunami of rock n' roll that stormed the country in the mid- 50's came with force and growing strength. I was born in 1947 and by age 7 I had developed a passion for music that remains fully ignited today. The music of the 50's, 60's and to the mid 70's was extraordinaryly inventive, historic and critically acclaimed. Music created after the mid 70's is often brilliant. Sometimes not. New technology, ever developing, has made the hard product of sound flawless and has spawned the art of creative production applying unconventioal sounds, lyrics and style to the music we enjoy. Writers and performers tell stories like very few have before them. Rock-n-Roll is here to stay". However, Rock-n-Roll is no longer staying alone. The broad array of musical genres creating the contemporary musical offerings being written, produced and performed today is, indeed, incredible art made by incredible artists. Fortunate are we. It is all here to stay.
